We’re celebrating some fantastic Winter Metro results, with several of our teams making it through to Grand Finals and bringing home some great results. A Huge Congratulations to all our Players, Coaches, Team Managers and Families for an outstanding year so far.

We’re also looking ahead to Summer Metro 2026/27, with trials underway, teams starting to take shape and pre-season training helping our players get ready for another action-packed season.

SNB Breakers Summer Season 2026/27 Dates

Here are the key dates to keep on your radar as we head into another exciting summer season!

Please save these dates! There are plenty of exciting opportunities ahead for our SNB Breakers Players, Teams and Families and we’ll provide more information and reminders as each event gets closer.

Meet the Team Behind the Scenes!

While our Players and Coaches are the ones we see poolside each week, there is a dedicated group of volunteers working behind the scenes to keep SNB Breakers Water Polo Club running, growing and moving forward.

Our Committee is the foundation of the club. They help oversee the day-to-day running of SNB Breakers, organise competitions, training, uniforms, tours, fundraising, communications and player pathways, while also working to create a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all our members.

It’s a big job and it certainly takes a Village! Our Committee members generously give their time, knowledge and energy because they care about our club and want to help make SNB Breakers the best club it can be.

Jemma is always available to chat with players and families about development, representative opportunities, pathways and how they can continue to progress in their water polo journey. Tour Coordinator – Leanne Stephens

Want to Get Involved?

We are always looking for more members and parents who would like to lend a hand.

Many hands make light work, and you certainly don't need to commit to a huge role or attend endless meetings to make a difference. Sometimes a little bit of help here and there can make a massive difference to the people doing the work behind the scenes.

We currently have a few opportunities for members and parents to come on board:

🔹 Assistant Secretary
Work alongside the Secretary to help with general club administration, answering website enquiries, responding to minor member queries and helping with some of the day-to-day admin tasks.

🔹 Sponsorship Coordinator
Help coordinate our existing sponsorship relationships and identify opportunities to bring new sponsors and supporters on board. A great role for someone who enjoys connecting with local businesses and building relationships. This role can be shared, so grab a friend or 2 and get on board.

🔹 Fundraising Committee Members
Work alongside our Fundraising Coordinator to help organise and run fundraising events throughout the season. You can help as much or as little as your time allows, every extra pair of hands is appreciated.

Winter Metro Season Wrap-Up

What a fantastic Winter Metro Season for SNB Breakers!

A Huge Congratulations to all of our Players, Coaches, Team Managers and Families on an outstanding season. We are incredibly proud of the effort, commitment and sportsmanship shown by our teams throughout the Winter Metro competition.

SUMMER METRO IS COMING!

We’re incredibly excited to welcome our NEW and RETURNING players back to the pool for the WPNSW Junior Summer Metro 2026/27 Season!

Our coaches and selectors have been busy getting everything organised and are looking forward to seeing everyone back in action, meeting our new players, welcoming returning players and getting the Summer Metro season underway.

With trials starting, we thought we’d share all the important information you need to know.

WPNSW Junior Summer Metro Season Dates

U14, U16 & U18:
Sunday, 11th October 2026 – Sunday, 21st March 2027
Summer break: 14th December 2026 – 31st January 2027

U12:
Sunday, 18th October 2026 – Sunday, 21st March 2027
Summer break: 29th November 2026 – 31st January 2027

SNB Summer Metro Coaches 2026/27 Season

SNB School Holiday Summer Metro Training

Summer training will commence in the week beginning Monday, 28th September.

With the school holidays starting and some players away, we will have modified training sessions during the first two weeks:

U12's-Men’s Training

• Tuesday 29th September – 7:00pm–9:00pm @ PLC
• Tuesday 6th October – 7:00pm–9:00pm @ PLC

U12's-Women’s Training

• Wednesday 30th September – 7:00pm–9:00pm @ PLC
• Wednesday 7th October – 7:00pm–9:00pm @ PLC

SNB Summer Metro Training Schedule

Following the School Holidays, our regular Summer Metro training schedule will commence for all teams from Week beginning 12th October.

SNB Breakers Summer Metro Trials

Trials for our U14, U16 and U18 teams will be held over 3 weeks at Pymble Ladies College (PLC) Aquatic Centre, Avon Road, Pymble. Please enter Gate 3 and park in the underground carpark.

All trials run from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.

M16 & M18 - Mondays – 7th, 14th & 21st September

M14 - Tuesdays – 8th, 15th & 22nd September

W16 & W18 - Wednesdays – 9th, 16th & 23rd September

W14 - Thursdays – 10th, 17th & 24th September

U12s (2015 & 2016)
U12 trials are being conducted separately through the Northern Beaches Water Polo Academy at Warringah Aquatic Centre (WAC). Please contact Paula Woolley for more information nbwaterpoloa@gmail.com

There are no trials for Men’s or Women’s Open teams, however an Expression of Interest (EOI) must be submitted.

A Few Things to Know Before Trials

1. An EOI does NOT guarantee a team place
Submitting an EOI is the first step and helps us understand player numbers and determine team formations. Final team selections will be made following the trial process.

2. Please try to attend all 3 trials
Where possible, we ask players to attend all three sessions. This gives our coaches and selectors the best opportunity to see each player, get to know them in the pool and make fair and informed selections.

3. Please arrive 15 minutes early
Players should arrive by 6:45pm to allow plenty of time to get changed, check in with coaches/selectors, warm up and be ready to start in the pool at 7:00pm.

4. Can’t make a trial? No problem, just let us know!
We understand that things come up. If your child is unable to attend one or more of the scheduled trials, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make sure the coaches and selectors are aware.

5. Trials are FREE!
There is no cost to participate in the SNB Summer Metro trials.

6. Parents & Carers – Drop off, please
To ensure our athletes, coaches and selectors can stay focused without distractions, we kindly ask that parents/carers drop players off and do not remain poolside during trials.

Why not make the most of the evening and grab a quick dinner or coffee? Pymble Hotel and the restaurants at Phillip Mall / West Pymble Shops are only around five minutes from PLC.

What Should Players Bring?

Players should bring:

• Comfortable swimwear that they would normally wear to training
• Goggles
• Water bottle
• Dry-land warm-up equipment if required, such as stretch bands
• A good attitude!

Most importantly, we want everyone to come along, give it their best, have fun and enjoy being back in the pool.

Team Announcements

Following the completion of trials, our Operations Director, Women’s Director and Men’s Director, together with our coaches and selectors, will work through team formations.

We expect all players to be contacted regarding their individual trial outcome, with the 2026/27 Summer Metro teams expected to be announced by Friday, 25 September.

Please remember that the trial process is about finding the right team placement for each player and building strong teams for the season ahead.

A Message for Our Players

We know trials can sometimes feel a little daunting, so our biggest message to all players is:

Do your best, enjoy the experience and have fun!

A Thought for our Parents

Parents, please encourage your children to focus on what they can control, their attitude, effort, teamwork and enjoyment of the game. Remind them that you are proud of them regardless of the outcome. Taking some of the pressure away allows players to relax, play their best Water Polo and enjoy the experience.

We’re really looking forward to seeing ALL of our NEW and RETURNING Breakers back in the pool over the next few weeks.

The 2026/27 Summer Metro season is almost here, and what better way to kick it off than by getting our SNB Breakers community together!

Join us for a relaxed evening by the beach with teammates, families, coaches and friends. It’s a great chance to catch up, welcome some new faces and celebrate the start of another exciting summer of water polo.

Water Polo Exchange Tournament

A Huge congratulations to the CIS Girls, who brought home the Gold Medal!

Congratulations also to the CHS Boys, who claimed Silver after an incredible, nail-biting final against the Queensland state team. The match finished tied before Queensland eventually prevailed in a penalty shootout.

Well done to all our SNB Breakers Players, Coaches and Managers who represented their teams throughout the tournament. We’re incredibly proud of your efforts, achievements and the way you represented the Breakers!

 U13 TASMANIA DEVELOPMENT CARNIVAL

A Big congratulations to our SNB Breakers Players and Coach who recently travelled to Tasmania to take part in the U13 Development Carnival.

The carnival was a fantastic opportunity for our young players to experience a representative-style water polo tour, playing alongside athletes from across NSW and competing against talented young players from around the country.

SNB REPRESENTING AT THE ASIA-PACIFIC INVITATIONAL

A Huge congratulations to Kai Penney, who has been selected in the New Zealand 23&U Men’s team to compete at the 2026 23&U Asia-Pacific Invitational Tournament, being held from 14th–17th September.

We are also incredibly proud to congratulate Joe Penney (M18A Coach), who has been selected as Assistant Coach of the New Zealand 23&U Men’s team for the tournament.

The Asia-Pacific Invitational provides an important development opportunity, giving athletes the chance to compete internationally, gain valuable experience and contribute to the continued growth of Water Polo across the Asia-Pacific region.

Congratulations Kai and Joe on this wonderful achievement. Everyone at SNB is incredibly proud of you both, and we wish you the very best of luck for the tournament!

SNB ON THE WORLD STAGE

What an incredible year it has been for SNB, with our players, coaches and team staff proudly representing Australia at the 2026 World Championships across Europe.

Representing your country on the world stage is an outstanding achievement and the result of years of hard work, commitment and dedication. We are incredibly proud to see so many members of our SNB community wearing the GREEN and GOLD and competing at the highest level of Junior Water Polo.

U16 WOMEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – ZAGREB, CROATIA

25th – 31st July 2026

Congratulations to Ella Morrison and Georgia Gray, who represented Australia at the U16 Women’s World Championships in Zagreb.

A fantastic achievement and an invaluable international experience for both girls. We are incredibly proud to see them representing Australia and SNB on the world stage.

U16 MEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – ZAGREB, CROATIA

3rd – 9th August 2026

SNB was also proudly represented on the Australian U16 Men’s team staff, with Dean Semmens taking on the role of Head Coach and Sam Tsiaousis as Team Manager at the U16 Men’s World Championships in Zagreb.

A fantastic achievement for both Dean and Sam and a wonderful reflection of the depth of coaching, leadership and experience we have within the SNB community.

U18 WOMEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – WORLD CHAMPIONS!

PUERTO DE LA CRUZ, TENERIFE, SPAIN - 16th – 23rd August 2026

A very special congratulations to Alannah Paul and Zara Cooke, who represented Australia at the U18 Women’s World Championships and came home as WORLD CHAMPIONS!

The Australian U18 Women claimed the GOLD MEDAL, an extraordinary achievement and a historic moment for Australian water polo, marking the first gold medal for an Australian junior team at a World Championships since 2007.

SNB was also incredibly proud to have Jemma Semmens representing Australia as Assistant Coach of this history-making team.

What an incredible accomplishment for Alannah, Zara, Jemma and the entire Australian team. To have 3 members of our SNB community involved in such a historic result is something very special, and we couldn’t be prouder!

U18 MEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – RIO MAIOR, PORTUGAL

27th June – 4th July 2026

Congratulations to Alex Woolfe, Cooper Semmens, Jett Semmens and Lachie Davies, who represented Australia at the U18 Men’s World Championships in Portugal.

With our SNB boys gaining invaluable experience competing against some of the best young players from around the globe.

A fantastic achievement by all 4 players and another very proud moment for SNB.

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to all of our Australian representatives – Ella Morrison, Georgia Gray, Alannah Paul, Zara Cooke, Alex Woolfe, Cooper Semmens, Jett Semmens and Lachie Davies, along with Jemma Semmens, Dean Semmens and Sam Tsiaousis.

To have so many SNB Players, Coaches and Team staff representing Australia at World Championships in 2026 is an outstanding achievement and something our entire club can be incredibly proud of.

And a very special mention to the INCREDIBLE support crews behind each of our Athletes, Coaches and Officials. These achievements don’t happen without the Families, Parents, Coaches, Teammates, Mentors and Supporters who have been there along the way, through the countless early mornings, late nights, training sessions, competitions, travel and everything else that goes into reaching this level.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in helping our SNB representatives get to where they are today. These achievements belong not only to those wearing the green and gold, but also to the wonderful people who have supported, encouraged and believed in them throughout their journey.

As mentioned previously, over the past year SNB Breakers have been thrilled to be working closely with KAP7 as our new SNB Uniform Supplier!

We’re incredibly excited about our new uniform range and the fresh new designs for both our Men’s and Women’s teams. This is an exciting new chapter for the club, and we can’t wait to see our SNB members proudly wearing the new gear throughout the 2026/27 season.

Please note that the Kap7 online shop for SNB will only open a few times throughout the year, for specific ordering periods (blocks). It will not be open for orders year-round.

Our first ordering window will be open from NOW early September through to mid-October, so if you need a new costume or any of the new SNB merchandise, please make sure you place your order during this period.

Some items, sizes and products may have an approximate 4-week wait, so we strongly encourage everyone to order early and allow plenty of time for delivery.

Please keep an eye out for future communication from SNB regarding upcoming KAP7 ordering windows, as there will only be limited opportunities throughout the year to place orders.

TURBO SIZING – PLEASE CHECK BEFORE ORDERING

IMPORTANT: The new SNB swimming costumes are Turbo costumes, and Turbo sizing is different to our last supplier. Turbo costumes are designed to fit snugly and run small for size.

Turbo has smaller sizing than usual, and therefore, we recommend opting for a bigger size if you are between 2 sizes.

We strongly recommend checking the Turbo sizing/measuring table on the Kap7 website before ordering, particularly if you have not worn a Turbo costume previously.

If you have questions regarding sizes please don't hesitate to reach out.

UNIFORM CHANGEOVER

We will be encouraging members to begin wearing the new SNB uniform from the start of the Summer Metro season.

Players are welcome to continue wearing their current SNB costumes during the transition period. However, ALL players MUST have the new KAP7 swimming costume by the WPNSW State Championships in January 2027.

Our goal is for the club to have fully transitioned into the new uniform by State Championships, so please keep the January deadline in mind when placing your order.
