SUMMER METRO SEASON & COACHES

Our Committee has been working hard to prepare for the 2023/2024 Summer Season. This seasons Coaching team will undoubtedly lift our program to new heights of excellence. Between ALL of our Coaches they have a wealth of experience from playing at State, National and International levels, and coaching teams to Metro, State and National success.

We understand that the anticipation for this season's fixtures has been building and that the delay in receiving the fixtures has been primarily due to pool availability, registrations and some changes within WPNSW. Rest assured, we have been in close contact with WPNSW, and they are working diligently to finalise the full draw as soon as possible.

We acknowledge that everyone has busy schedules and that having the fixtures in hand makes it easier to organise and commit to our Water Polo activities. Please bear with us a little longer, and we promise to share the complete fixture list with you as soon as it becomes available.

We look forward to the exciting season ahead with these outstanding coaches leading the way:

RESPECT

At SNB we take immense pride in our identity as a well-respected and community-driven Water Polo Club. Our shared passion for Water Polo and our dedication to fostering a strong sense of unity within our community have always set us apart.

As we are at the start of the Summer Season and with inter-state tournaments on the horizon, we would like to take a moment to emphasise one of our core club values - Respect.

Respect is more than just a word, it's a guiding principle that defines who we are as a club. It influences the way we interact with our fellow members, our competitors, and the community at large. Respect fosters a positive and inclusive environment that enables everyone to grow, learn, and thrive within our club.

We kindly ask all our members to keep this essential value in mind as we head into the Summer Season. Let's respect one another, support our teammates, and uphold the principles of sportsmanship, both in and out of the water.

Here’s a few things to keep in mind:

Training

  • Always be on time, on arrival say Hello to your Coach to let them know you are there.
  • During the session, stay focused on what the Coach is asking you to do and train with maximum effort.
  • At the end of training thank your Coach for the session and offer assistance to help pack away equipment or reset the area.

 Games

  • Once again, say Hello to your Coach on arrival.
  • During the game stay focused and put in 100% effort.
  • At the end of the game thank your Coach for the game; shake the opposition team’s hands and thank them for the game; and thank the referees for officiating the match.

General

  • If you are not able to make training or a game, please let your team manager know in advance so they are able to ensure the team has enough players on game day.
  • Respect and support eachother as a "Team".

We ask all Parents/Carers of Junior players to help us encourage them to demonstrate these behaviours. Our Senior players and Coaches will also be demonstrating these behaviours and leading by example.

MEMBER PROTECTION

Playing Water Polo should be fun, safe, and enjoyable for all. If at any time the experience isn't going to plan, it can be helpful to have someone to 'go to' who can help talk it through in confidence. Our club MPIO "Member Protection Information Officer" is Nerida Wolfers - she's on a sabbatical from corporate and has extensive background in leadership, conflict resolution and working in organisations with children.

You can reach her in confidence on snbwaterpolo.mpio@gmail.com. And you can find more information on our approach to Member protection here.

  Uniforms Update

SNB UNIFORMS 2023/2024 SEASON

For those still seeking to purchase uniforms, our Uniform Manager is Carly Smith and she can be contacted for orders on the following email: uniforms@snbwaterpolo.com.au.

We will be moving toward a digital ordering system shortly to streamline the ordering process, so please stay tuned for updates on our website.

This year we are moving away from the white polo shirts in favour of the royal blue T-shirts, that have proven to be more popular with our players (and for those having to launder them!). Other items Carly has for sale are SNB Towels and SNB Backpacks.

There will also be some be some new products coming in for SNB Support crew.

Essential Uniform Items:

  • Royal Blue T-shirt  (White Polo Shirts may be worn until phased out)
  • Plain black shorts or track suit pants (parents to purchase independently from preferred retailer)
  • Breakers Swim Wear

We would like to emphasise the importance of wearing your SNB Breakers Water Polo Club Costume and uniform to all games.

The club's newsletter will feature updates and highlights from our games. Wearing the SNB Breakers uniform will undoubtedly contribute to creating visually appealing and engaging content for the newsletter.

We understand that circumstances might arise where wearing the uniform could be challenging, but we kindly ask all players to prioritise representing the SNB Breakers Water Polo Club to the best of their abilities by wearing the uniform consistently.

Invoices for Uniform fees are in the process of being sent out via email. Please ensure ALL outstanding invoices are paid. If you have any issues or concerns related to the uniform, please feel free to reach out to Carly uniforms@snbwaterpolo.com.au

NATIONAL STATE CHAMPS

Congratulations to all the SNB players who represented NSW and ACT in the U15 and U17 Men's and Women's National State Championships in September. It's a huge achievement and honour to participate in such a high-level tournament and represent your state.

Special Congratulations go to Chloe Long and Alex Woofe for being named the "Most Valuable Goalie" (MVG) in the U15 Men's and Women's age group. Their dedication and skill in the sport are clearly recognised.

These championships are not only a testament to the Players' abilities but also a source of pride for the entire SNB Community. Keep up the great work team, and here's to more success in the future!

CANBERRA CUP 2023

We are just a couple of weeks away from this year’s Junior Canberra Cup tournament and our Fabulous "Tour Manager" Corinne Long alonside our SNB Committee have been working hard to organise another great weekend in Canberra.

Dates: Friday 10th - Sunday 12th November

Teams Attending: 2 x U14M & 2 x U14W, 2 x U17M & 2 x U17W.

Buses will depart Warringah Aquatic Centre on Friday 10th November at 11am – please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to allow adequate time to mark off names, load bags, etc. We understand many parents will also be driving down, however, we encourage the players to travel together as a team (this also allows parents to leave later in the day as many have suggested).

Given the number of parents driving to Canberra, we will NOT provide bus transport home. Team Managers (supported by our Tour Manager, Corinne Long) will work with teams to organise car-pooling, including the logistics of getting players to and from games.

Please click on the links below for an Overview of the Event, Tour Requirements, Accommodation and Travel arrangements.
