Below provides the most updated information and insight into commitments for the Summer season.

Team Selections

Teams will be announced by the club via email following completion of trials, mid-September 2023.

At this stage, it is anticipated that for each Junior Boys/Girls division, we will have 1 x 12U team, 3 x 14U teams, 2 x 16U teams, 1 x 18U team, this is subject to change depending on final numbers at trials.

Competition

The Junior Summer Metro Competition will run from Sunday 8th October 2023 to Sun 24th March 2024 (with 6 weeks break from mid-December through January).

Games are scheduled on Sundays with both the time and venue varying week to week. Possible venues across Sydney typically include Pymble, Ryde, Drummoyne, Balmain, Auburn, Ashfield, Sutherland, Sydney University and Cranbrook.

Attendance at games is compulsory and whilst we appreciate our athletes may be involved in other activities, we expect Water Polo is prioritised, particularly during finals. This is especially relevant to those seeking A team selection.

Summer Season Fees

Our 2023/2024 fees are yet to be determined, however, are set based on a combination of several factors.

The Club Management Committee are completing a thorough review of the Clubs finances to arrive at the season's fee structure.

When calculating the fees consideration has been given for the following:-

  • Capitation Fees – These fees are set by WPA and WPNSW and provide insurance cover and support by the Governing bodies

  • GST – All fees are inclusive of this

  • Coaching – Our Club has a commitment to ensure quality coaching to develop and grow our members.  To attract and retain our quality coaches they are paid for the service they provide to our members.

  • Pool Hire – This is the most significant cost to the Club for training sessions and scheduling the Metro games. We utilise Manly Swim Centre, Warringah Aquatic Centre and Pymble Ladies College for the training sessions and games.

  • Metro Competition Costs – Team Entries, Referees and Pool Controller fees (except Div 2).

  • Equipment – Caps and Balls are supplied to teams for the Metro competition.  New items are being purchased for training sessions.

Payment of fees is required prior to the commencement of the season. Payment plans may be considered by our Treasurer for Junior members in particular circumstances.

2023/2024 Summer fees will be confirmed shortly.

Training

Our SNB Breakers training venues can include Manly Aquatic Centre (MAC), Warringah Aquatic Centre (WAC) and Pymble Ladies College (PLC), with training sessions typically held on designated weeknights between 6:30pm-9pm. Actual training times and venues will be finalised shortly.

Attendance at training is compulsory and players are asked to inform their coach and/or manager if you are unable to attend a session.

We have previously shared the importance of swimming fitness for water polo. Players are encouraged to attend weekly swimming squad sessions, in addition to water polo training, or as recommended by their coach. For those seeking A team selection, a minimum of two swim squad sessions per week is generally expected.

SNB Uniform

We would like to emphasise the importance of wearing your SNB Breakers Water Polo Club Costume and uniform to all games. We kindly ask all players to prioritise representing the SNB Breakers Water Polo Club to the best of their abilities by wearing the uniform consistently. If you have any issues or concerns related to the uniform, please feel free to reach out to our Club Secretary - Harris Anasson or our Uniforms Manager - Carly Smith - uniforms@snbwaterpolo.com.au

Parent/Carer Volunteers

As with many other sports, we are also reliant upon the volunteer efforts of parents and carers to effectively run the season. SNB Breakers prides itself on a strong sense of community and willingness to help where possible. We ask all incoming parents to embrace the philosophy and assist with official duties. Information and training will be provided.

Player Agreement

Please find attached a  ‘Player Agreement’ that coaches will be talking through with all athletes during trials and each player will be given a copy to sign and agree to.
