BREAKERS JUNIOR BOYS WATER POLO TRIALS & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The SNB Breakers Junior Boys Water Polo trials for players born

· Group 1: Born 1997 and later (U14)

· Group 2: Born 1995 and later (U16)

The aim of the trials is to promote and develop water polo skills amongst junior boys in the North Shore and Northern Beaches areas and for the SNB Breakers team committee to select a number of boys to participate in the SNB Junior Boys Development program.

It is then the intention that program members will develop further to play in the Sydney Metropolitan competition, New South Wales Championships and the Australian Championships with SNB Breakers representative teams.

Breakers Water Polo coaching staff have developed a program to trial enthusiastic players to participate in Water Polo drills & skills sessions together at the Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool, Balgowlah Road Manly between 6.30 and 9.00 pm on Monday 11 April 2011.

There is no cost for this trial except the pool entry fee which is to be paid at pool reception.

Pre requisites for selection from the trial and onto the SNB Breakers Development Program are:

- A commitment by you that you will be available for selection for the Metropolitan competitions played during the Winter and Summer 2010 & 2011. These competitions are played on Wednesday nights with our home games during Winter played at Manly Swim Centre.

- That you will endeavour to partake in your own individual swim training, and attend weekly SNB Breakers training sessions. Swim fitness is an essential requirement to playing competition water polo.

Breakers announces the Brookvale Hotel as a major sponsor PDF Print E-mail

The Brookvale Hotel has agreed to sponsor Breakers Water Polo for the 2010/2011 Summer season and the 2011 Winter season.

All teams are encouraged to organise a team dinner or two at the Hotel throughout the course of each season. Please let the bar staff know you are from Breakers Water Polo and ask they note your attendance in their shift report.  This is to ensure there is some record of our patronage at the Hotel, which we can use to demonstrate our commitment when it comes time to negotiate with Hotel for future sponsorship.

Kids eat free at the Hotel on Sundays, and $11 Steaks are available 7 days a week, so organise that team dinner or after match celebration now.

Keep an eye out for future social and fundraising functions at the Brookvale Hotel soon.

U16 Boys 09/10 Wrap Up PDF Print E-mail

The U16 mens' team's summer season came to a conclusion with a third placing at the State Clubs Championships held at Wollongong, following a third placing in the Metropolitan Competition.

The U16 mens competitions were very keenly contested, with Breakers, Hunter and Cronulla dominant and Drummoyne and UNSW/Wests well in the mix.

During the Metropolitan Competition, Breakers defeated Cronulla in their only game during the competition rounds but were beaten by Cronulla in the elimination final. Cronulla went on to win the grand final against Hunter.

At the State Clubs Championships, the Breakers went through the round robin of games and tri-final undefeated but again lost to Cronulla in the semi-final. This time, Hunter had the better of Cronulla and won the grand final.

Breakers players selected into the State U16 squad;
Ciaran Wolohan, Matt Willows, Harrison Williams and Jarrad Freakley.
